LORO 2017-2024
LORO (Them) is a visual narrative work that investigates the potential presence of extraterrestrial intelligence in Italy, spanning from the early 20th century to the present day. The project stems from extensive research into archives, eyewitness testimonies, and documentation related to UAP, incorporating many of the most significant cases recorded within Italian territory over time.
Adopting a visual and anthropological approach, the work explores how these events intertwine with the lives of the witnesses and sediment within the collective imagination, transforming into memories, lore, and interpretations. Rather than seeking confirmation or denial, LORO focuses on the zone of uncertainty between document and narrative, between experience and representation, questioning the boundary between what is observed and what is imagined.
The project maintains a critical distance from ideological, religious, or sensationalist interpretations, treating the phenomenon as a cultural, symbolic, and narrative device. From this perspective, ufology becomes a tool to reflect upon the limits of knowledge and the human need to assign meaning to the unknown.
LORO does not propose a definitive truth; instead, it opens up a space of inquiry into the relationship between the visible and the invisible, reality and imagination, inviting the viewer to engage with uncertainty as a catalyst for thought.
