Everyday in Gaza
EveryDay in Gaza, the short film produced by WeWorld and directed by Omar Rammal with footage by Soleiman Hejji, takes viewers into the heart of the Gaza Strip during April and May 2025. It offers an unfiltered look at what it means to live under bombardment for over a year and a half, where daily existence is marked by scarcity, fear, and resilience.
At the center of the story is the Farra family. Mohammed, a barber, continues to cut hair amid the rubble, while his wife Yusra and their three children try to maintain fragments of normal life. Their testimonies bring to light the impossibility of meeting basic needs, caused by the absence of drinking water, electricity blackouts, the closure of schools, the growing lack of food, and the constant threat to their lives.
The film also introduces Wafa, a woman devoted to welcoming children with disabilities and orphans. In a fragile environment, she creates moments of play, learning, and tenderness — fragile yet vital spaces of normality for those most vulnerable.
Without narration, EveryDay in Gaza builds its story through images, voices, and gestures alone. This absence of commentary allows the people of Gaza to narrate their own reality with dignity, strength, and humanity.
More than a document of survival, the film is a testimony to daily resistance. It amplifies the voices of those who, in a suspended reality, continue to live, love, and hope against all odds.
Everyday in Gaza received the Special Award at the Nastri d’Argento and won the David di Donatello for Best Short Film.
